Blackwork Sunday Quilted

This is the third post for this project, it began here. The second post can be found here.

Continuing the blackwork embroidery panels, I finished Thursday and Friday. Realizing there was an uneven number of blocks I used a photo app to visualise it as a nine-piece quilt.

Satisfied with the results I created two more pieces, still using the original iron-on patterns. I have edged them in black.

Now I will give them a black and white polka dot border and quilt them individually. It is entirely hand sewn. I find hand stitching so relaxing it is like instant meditation. By completing every panel separately before joining, the project remains completely portable.

I will join the panels using the quilt as you go method. I found a great tutorial on YouTube:

Unfortunately I have not yet finished this quilt.

Who am I? I am different things to different people. I am a poet, a visual artist, a sculptor of found objects, and a writer. I am a bookkeeper, an office manager, an administrator and software support consultant, even a short-order cook and barista. I am a parent, a grandparent, a sibling, a cousin and a friend. I am a traveller, a technophile, a philosopher and a student of all things.
