What can I say, I am still finding enjoyment in Lonnie Morgan’s “100 Colourful Granny Squares to Crochet”. Week 5, I have chosen Aztec Sun on page 114.
Inspired by my recent light bulb moment about colour, I have used very similar colours (from my own palette, however) but I have used them in a different order. Again I am amazed by how different something can look, using the same colours but, with a different weight or emphasis.
The other thing I am surprised by is that so far, I have been able to maintain the moment of my project. Routine is not one of my finer points, and that is the reason for this challenge. So far, so good.
[…] This is a very straightforward pattern converting a circle to a square using taller and shorter stitches across the width of the emerging square. The only variation in this pattern is that in the row that constructs the square it is worked through the back of the loops which accentuates the rim of the circle. In the book, the centre is coloured red, orange and yellow with the surrounding square in sky blue hence the name Aztec Sun.
