Woo hoo I have a new toy. A yarn winder. I’ve been vacillating over buying one for a couple of years. They are not cheap and I have wondered how much I would really use one.

Recently I have been working on my to top-down baby cardigan and have made several samples to compare the shaping. I have also been experimenting with Brioche knitting and wound up making an oversized cowl. This came about because I saw some yarn that I just had to buy because I loved the colours but I had no idea what to make with it.

Conclusion? I really do need a yarn winder or else I will be spending the next two weeks laboriously wrapping yarn around empty toilet rolls.
