I’ve added a beanie to the second cardigan to completed the outfit. I’ve called it Bobbles and Lace. The pattern came from Panda book 215, “More Beautiful Babies”, design 9. I used Panda Magnum new soft 8 ply in orange and followed instructions for size 0. I made one adaption in that instead of knitting separate bobbles then sewing them in, I knitted them in as I went along. Being 100% acrylic (I rarely use anything else) it is easily washable, the label says warm machine wash or hand wash, cold rinse well, do not wring, do not iron, do not tumble dry (I used to), dry flat in shade, do not bleach, dry cleanable.

The doll in this picture is Lucy. She is a member of the family. She was given to my middle daughter for her second birthday which came three days after birth to her younger sister. Lucy looked monstrous against the new baby, about the size of a 3-month-old. I now use her as a guide to baby sizes. Lucy was never appreciated by the middle daughter and she was finally adopted by her younger sister who has cared for her diligently ever since. At the date of writing, Lucy is 18 years old.

Judging by Lucy, this should fit my grandchild at around three months by which time it will be around September. Being 8 ply it should be nice and warm.
