Lockdown Jumper 2 Matching Teddy

I couldn’t help myself. I can’t bear left-over yarn and I’ve been eyeing off this teddy for a long, long time. It comes from Patons Book 5000 ” A complete wardrobe of Hand Knits for Baby” Style 16B on pages 46 and 47. The pattern calls for two strands of 4 ply yarn so I simply substituted a single strand of 8 ply. I used 2.35 mm needles because my experience with knitting toys proves that a tighter knit is needed to stop the stuffing from showing through. I ignored the stripes and used white for the legs and head and the multicolour for the torso and arms. It would have been super cute if I could have made it look more like the jumper but I didn’t have enough leftover white yarn for the “jumper” or another suitable colour to substitute for the legs. Maybe next time I make a baby’s jumper I will plan for a replica teddy.
