Question. What department store is so well known and so upper-class that it doesn’t even need to put its name on the building? This is London so the answer is Harrods of course. It’s hard to notice something when it’s the absence of it that makes it remarkable. The absence of any signage to indicate that the massive department store you are looking at is in actual fact the world-renowned Harrods is most remarkable.

It’s a moot point because my budget will never stretch to anything inside those hallowed shopping isles. My hat goes off to Marks & Spencer’s who ply their wears to the plain, ordinary, likes of me.
